The IFT 7-Step Strategy to Pass the FRM Part 1 Exam
The FRM program is important, and all IFT products focus on its core concepts. We recommend the following 7-step study strategy:
1-Make a study schedule and follow it religiously. For each chapter in the curriculum, you need to complete one round of study (steps 2 to 5) about 6–8 weeks before the exam. For IFT videos, be sure to use IFT’s study planner, which has all the video durations listed.

2-Watch IFT's detailed videos carefully. Pause, rewind, and review where you need more time to understand. Print out the slides and take your own notes as you are watching.
3Read IFT notes for extra understanding, reinforcing concepts, and retaining knowledge.
4-Do the questions from the curriculum at the end of each chapter. Mark questions that you get wrong or struggle with.
5-Do the IFT Q-bank for that chapter. Note the questions that you get wrong.
6-Do a comprehensive review 6–8 weeks before the exam. You may rewatch the videos at a higher playback speed (1.5x – 2.0x). Review your own notes and IFT study notes. Review the Q-bank and curriculum questions that you had marked before to ensure mastery.
7-A month prior to the exam, you should practice with full-length mock exams. The mock exams should be done in a manner to replicate your real exam experience. These should be done in a timed fashion and in one sitting.
